Rokimoto Takes Times Square!

Funmaker Team

On March 1st, something magical happened in the heart of New York City. Rokimoto made its official debut at MINISO’s Times Square flagship with the launch of our very first collectible line, the Cup of Fun series and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to introduce ourselves to the world.

The energy was unreal. Fans, collectors, and curious passersby filled the MINISO pop-up to experience a bold new chapter in designer toys. This wasn’t just about figures on a shelf, it was about characters you could connect with, display proudly, and fall in love with one cup at a time.

The Cup of Fun series introduces an entirely new take on collectibles: colorful, character-driven figures that arrive stacked in bright, personality-packed cups. Each one is designed with heart, humor, and that signature Rokimoto spirit that’s all about joy, creativity, and connection.

Leading the launch was none other than Mike Becker, creator of Funko and the visionary behind Rokimoto. He was joined by the full Rokimoto team, celebrating a moment years in the making. It was a true homecoming for collectible lovers, a brand-new world, filled with familiar excitement and fresh energy.

Then Came The Slurprises
AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys joined the launch not just as a guest, but as a contributing artist. He brought his own creative energy to the collection with a custom-designed Rokimoto Crew, a limited-edition set that made its debut exclusively at the Times Square event. Each figure in the AJ-designed crew brought a unique edge and flavor to the collection, blending his personal style with the fun-forward identity of Rokimoto.

Also released for the first time was the limited-edition MINISO Leo, a character created in collaboration with MINISO to mark this special partnership. With its bold design and exclusive packaging, Leo became one of the most sought-after figures of the day and a symbol of the creative fusion between Rokimoto and MINISO.

The star of the show was the red Launch Box, a collector’s dream packed with these exclusive drops. Inside, fans found the limited MINISO Leo, AJ’s Rokimoto Crew figures, and other launch-only items that immediately became must-haves. Dozens of them were signed on-site by both Mike Becker and AJ McLean, adding a personal touch that fans will never forget.

The decision to launch in Times Square, inside one of MINISO’s most vibrant locations, couldn’t have been more fitting. Rokimoto is about joy, accessibility, and bold expression and Times Square amplified all of that to the max. It was more than just a product release. It was a full-on celebration of everything Rokimoto stands for.

This Is Just The Beginning
We’re building a world of fun and imagination, where every cup holds a new character, a new story, and a new reason to smile. More drops are on the way. More collaborations are in the works. And more Cups of Fun are coming soon.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported us, and joined us on Day One of the Rokimoto journey. We can’t wait to show you what’s next.

Welcome to Rokimoto. Let’s make fun!
